We are thrilled to announce an exciting new initiative that has been in the works! At the request of our Member Nations, we are beginning the development of a brand-new Cultural Inclusion Program, designed to foster a deeper understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and values in the workplace. This program aims to promote respect, inclusion, and trust, while also celebrating the rich diversity within our communities.
Purpose and Goals: Building Respect and Trust
The Cultural Inclusion Program was created in direct response to feedback from our Member Nations. Through conversations and community engagement, we’ve learned how important it is to provide Indigenous Culture Sensitivity and Awareness training for new and existing employees. By increasing cultural understanding, we can improve workplace environments and relationships, making them more inclusive and respectful for everyone.
This program is designed to be a pathway to deeper understanding, offering a curriculum and toolkit that includes training materials, ongoing support, and hands-on guidance. Identified trainers within each community will receive dedicated training, equipping them to lead these initiatives in a way that reflects local cultural values and traditions.
The ultimate goal is to build respect and trust throughout the community while laying a foundation for future generations to continue learning, celebrating, and promoting inclusion.
Why Cultural Inclusion Matters
Our vision for this program goes beyond the workplace. It’s about creating an environment where diversity is embraced, and where Indigenous cultures are recognized, valued, and respected. This initiative will help foster a stronger sense of community, enabling us to celebrate our unique traditions while working towards a common future.
We are committed to this long-term journey of promoting understanding, breaking down barriers, and creating a welcoming space for all cultural backgrounds. Through collaboration, we aim to build a program that not only educates but unites.
